A teenager killed in an industrial accident at a Tolko Industries mill in Lavington on the eve of his high school graduation has been identified.

Bradley Haslam, 18, was found severely injured by fellow employees early Saturday after he became caught in a conveyer belt at the mill during the overnight shift.

Haslam later died at Vernon Jubilee Hospital from his injuries.

The mill is located 15 kilometers south of Vernon.

“To know that a family has been forever changed by this tragedy is devastating,” said company CEO Brad Thorlakson in a written statement.

“This tragedy serves as a personal call to action for all of us to look out for each other and to make sure that everyone is safe,” he added.

The B.C. Coroners Service and WorkSafe BC are investigating.
