Provincial Health Services Authority CEO resigns over raises
Lynda Cranston. CEO of Provincial Health Services Authority, resigned Friday after giving our pay raises to staff.
The PHSA runs BC Children’s Hospital, BC Transplant, BC Cancer Agency.
Cranston approved 118 wage increases that went against the government “wage freeze” policy.
Cranston said she exceeded a 2012 government order freezing pay hikes to public-sector managers and executives before resigning.
The board accepted the resignation.
The pay hikes took effect on May 17 — three days after the Liberals won their majority government.
