Burnaby RCMP officers began their day trying to corral a group of three bears near the 7500 block of Craig Street. The bears were reported at 8 p.m. Thursday evening, rummaging through garbage pails and bags left out for pick-up.

The bears were initially herded back into the forest area by an officer utilizing his siren. They returned early this morning. Officers are attempting to marshal the bears back towards the park area to the east.

Burnaby RCMP are reminding citizens that this is bear season and interactions between these animals and the public are becoming more common.
