Salmo RCMP have been receiving complaints regarding companies sending mail to local residents hiring for a “Customer Service Evaluator” position.

A cheque is enclosed in the letter for several thousand dollars and recipients are asked to go purchase products at various stores.

Police have made calls to the different companies listed at the top of the letters and representatives have not answered police questions about the position or company.

Police are reminding the public to be vigilant when receiving unsolicited mail asking people to cash cheques for large sums of money, these types of requests are usually frauds.
