Penticton homeowner confronts invader

The Penticton RCMP is currently investigating a theft from a resident in the Acacia Crescent area over the weekend.

A homeowner was confronted by a male suspect inside the attached garage of their home where the suspect demanded cash.

The incident happened on Saturday March 23 at around 6:15 a.m. the Penticton RCMP responded to a report of a theft in the 100 block of Acacia Crescent by an intruder found inside the victims’ garage.

The homeowner said that they were awoken by suspicious noises outside their home. The owner looked outside his front door and didn’t see anything or anyone.

The home owner then went and checked inside his garage, where he was confronted by a u/k male. The suspect demanded money then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash which had been handed over by the homeowner.

Uniformed officers and a police service dog team attended to the call.

The suspect was not located at that time and the investigation into the incident is continuing.

The male is described as 5’6″ to 5’8″, small build and wearing dark clothing.

Investigators with the Penticton Regional General Investigation Section are seeking public assistance with this incident and ask that anyone who may have seen anything or anyone suspicious to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
