Explosive device used in vehicle fire

The Kelowna RCMP have determined the vehicle fire that occurred in the early morning hours of (Friday) January 11, 2013 in the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue resulted from the detonation of a low order explosive device.

Investigators do not believe this to be a random act of vandalism but no motive has yet been determined. There is nothing to suggest at this time as to the reason why the specific vehicle was targeted.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to please call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
