'Targeted' shooting Saturday in Chilliwack

RCMP believe a shooting Saturday in Chilliwack was a “targeted” attack.

Saturday (December 22) at 4:45 a.m, a 46-year-old Chilliwack man called police to say that he had been shot. 

The man was transported to hospital with gun shot wounds. 

Later Saturday (1 p.m.) Chilliwack RCMP arrested a 31-year-old Chilliwack man without incident in a Chilliwack residential area. 

“The police believe this was a targeted shooting,” said Corporal Tammy Hollingsworth. 

“The Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Section worked diligently to apprehend the suspect.”

The man remains in custody at the Chilliwack RCMP detachment until his first court appearance on Monday morning, (December 24)

The victim of the shooting remains in hospital in stable condition.
