Identity of 16-year-old Kamloops homicide victim released

The Kamloops RCMP confirmed the identity of the homicide victim found in the undeveloped area of Guerin Creek as 16-year-old Summer Star Elizabeth Krista-Lee Fowler of the Gitanmaax First Nation Band in Hazelton, BC.

The body was found Wednesday (December 5) by a person walking their dog.

RCMP conducted a detailed forensic autopsy confirming of the identity of Fowler and a conclusive determination that the death was a homicide.

The cause of death is not being released.

The deceased had been in Kamloops for an undisclosed period of time and had been in contact with associates in the community.

No further information is being released at this time regarding the investigation into her death.

Police are still asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Guerin Cr. area from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning to contact the Kamloops RCMP or Crimestoppers.

The family of Ms. Fowler is asking that the public and media respect their request for privacy at this time.
