Andrew Lloyd-Webber brought it to life, but Kevin Armstrong brought it to Nelson as the director walked fans through six shows of Jesus Christ Superstar during the weekend at the Capitol Theatre.

The Nelson Community Opera Amateur Production saw more than 2000 people attend the six shows this past weekend at the Capitol.

Josh Murray and Aaron Nelson led the enormous cast as Jesus Christ with Michael Calladine and Armstrong playing Judas.

Julie Johnson-Murray and Solona Armstrong played Mary while Besie Wapp was Pontius Pilate.

King Herod’s character was played by Taylor Dean Wilson and Michael Graham.
