UPDATED: Alberta man killed in accident near Sparwood identified

A man from Lethbridge has been identified as the lone occupant killed in a in a single-vehicle accident east of Sparwood Monday.

RCMP confirmed the deceased as 35-year-old Clark Bohmer.

The accident happened east of Sparwood on Highway 3.

Bohmer was driving a truck that was pulling a fifth-wheel when the went off the road and down a bank coming to rest in a ditch.

RCMP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.

Alberta man killed in accident near Sparwood

Elk Valley RCMP reported than an Alberta man died Monday when the pickup truck he was driving went off the road and landed in a ditch.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., RCMP was called to the scene of an accident on Highway 3 east of Sparwood.

The man was pulling a fifth wheel trailer when the truck and trailer left the road, traveling about 150 meters before landing in Alexander Creek according to RCMP.

The driver, the only person in the vehicle, was found dead at the scene.

RCMP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.

The man’s name is being withheld until the family has been notified.
