Two mountain climbers fall on Mt Rogers, one deceased
Golden RCMP received a call around 6 p.m. Mountain Time from Parks Canada that two climbers had fallen on Mt Rogers.
RCMP confirms that a father and son, ages 52 and 22, from 108 mile Ranch, BC, were descending Mt. Rogers when they slipped in the snow.
The pair slid approximately 100 meters on the snow before falling approximately 10 meters over a bergschrund.
The son survived the fall and managed to contact help.
However, the father was not as fortunate as he died from injuries.
He remained on the mountain until Parks Canada Search and Rescue could safely remove him Thursday morning.
The names of the climbers are not being released.
