Vernon RCMP get there (robbery) man

Monday (July 30) afternoon officers from the Vernon Serious Crimes Unit arrested a 30-year-old man for the three outstanding bank robberies in the Central Okanagan City.

The suspect in the case was identified through the photos that were posted through the media outlets.

Police then acted on a tip from the public and police inquiries for the suspect lead him to attend the police office where he was arrested without incident.

The suspect, a Vernon resident is in custody and is expected to make a court appearance latter Tuesday.

The police are recommending that he remain in custody until his upcoming trial date.

Police believe the suspect is responsible for robberies at the Vantage One Credit Union (December 20, 2011), Bank Of Montreal (June 9, 2012) and HSBC (July 24, 2012).
