RCMP asking for public's assistance after motorcycle collides with car south of Penticton

The RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services are investigating the collision between a motorcycle and a car on Highway 97, along Skaha Lake at the South end of Penticton, BC. 

The rider of the motorcycle, a Surrey man in his mid 30s suffered life threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

At approximately 2:35 p.m. Monday (July 9) RCMP and BC Ambulance Services responded to the two vehicle collision between a Honda motorcycle and a small blue Pontiac car on Highway 97 along Skaha Lake near the entrance road to the Sun Leisure mobile home park. 

The motorcycle was westbound on Highway 97, and the car was pulling out from a side road when the two vehicles collided.

RCMP Traffic Services investigators have determined that alcohol is not a factor. 

The scene examination and findings indicate that driving behaviour are considered factors for this collision.

South Okanagan Traffic Services Keremeos are conducting the investigation as the injuries suffered by the motorcyclist are life threatening. 

Police are seeking the public’s assistance from anyone who witnessed this collision or the driving patterns of either vehicle prior to the collision.
