Male stabbed in Penticton Friday

Penticton RCMP are investigating a stabbing Friday in the South Okanagan City.

At approximately 7:22 p.m. Friday (July 27), Penticton members responded to a stabbing compliant in the 200 Block of  Power Street.

Two males had been involved in a argument earlier. The one male left and returned later with another male and the argument continue.

The suspect stabbed the 39-year-old victim, a Penticton resident. 

The victim was treated by Emergency Health Services for stab wounds to the chest and neck area at the scene and then was transported to Penticton General hospital and later to Kelowna General Hospital where he under went surgery.

The victim is presently in the Intensive Care Unit of the Kelowna General Hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries. 

Information gathered from the numerous witnesses at the scene led to the arrest of a 31-year old-male suspect of Penticton in front of his nearby residence.

Another 40 year old male of Penticton was also implicated in the assault and was arrested at the scene.

The 40-year-old male has been released from custody to appear in Penticton Court on August 22, 2012. Charges of Possession of a Weapon are being recommended.

The 31 year old male remains in custody with charges of Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation being recommended at this time. Investigation continues.

All three males are well known to police.
