Names of victims in floatplane crash released
The B.C. Coroners Service has officially identified the three people killed in a plane crash near the Brenda Mines turnoff on Highway 97C on Sunday.
The owner and pilot of the plane Colin Moyes, 52, and passengers Peter Keate, 81 and Inez Keate, 79, all died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The plane was on a return trip from Peachland to Pitt Meadows when it crashed on the forested mountainside near Highway 97C around 6:45 p.m. PDT.
Moyes, a West Vancouver resident kept the amphibious 1966 Beaver float plane in a hanger at the Pitt Meadows airport.
The cause of the crash has not been released.
