Lower Mainland man drowns near Peachland

A 43-year-old man drowned after the boat he was in capsized on Headwaters Lake, approximately 30 kms west of Peachland Friday (May 18).

West Kelowna received the call at 5:25 p.m. Friday of a boat over turned at Headwaters Lake.

Three males had been fishing in the boat, and when the occupants stood up,  the boat capsized.

There were life jackets in the boat at the time, but the occupants were not wearing them.

Two males swam to shore and the third male failed to reach shore.

The deceased male is a resident of the Lower Mainland.

This matter is still under investigation by the Coroner Service of BC, and further inquiries should be directed to 1-888-991-2211.
