There’s no mystery about the L.V. Rogers Bombers Rugby team as the Mount Bouchiere Bears of West Kelowna realized last week in Trail.

The Bombers clobbered the Bears 25-0 in High School Boy’s Rugby Exhibition action in the Silver City.

The game was part of a Mystery Tour where the visiting Bears got on a bus not knowing where the team was heading to who they were playing.

“The boys played very well in most aspects of the game,” said Bomber coach Michael Joyce. “They were able to run many consecutive phases and swing the ball from sideline to sideline.”

“Grade 10 student Ezra Lloyd scored his first try playing as a senior,” he added. “We also saw some big improvements with our Grade 11 players.”

The Bombers were to have played in the Kamloops RugbyFest this weekend. However, the tourney was cancelled due to the recent job action by the B.C. Teacher’s Federation.

Joyce does hope to take LVR’s junor boys and girl’s teams to Kamloops for a pair of exhibition games. The game will be the first of the season for both teams.

The Bombers opened the Kootenay High School season Friday, April 27 in Grand Forks.
