Nelson recent burning period has been extended to Saturday, May 5 at 6 p.m. by Fire Chief Simon Grypma.
“Due to a mostly poor and fair ratings form the Ministry of Environment’s Venting Index, there have been very few days where burning has been allowed and only two afternoons last week,” Grypma said in a written release.
“As a result (I) have chosen to extend the current burning period by one week. . ..”
