West Kelowna advances to Kraft Hockeyville Final Five
If passion and commitment matter, West Kelowna is well positioned to give the rest of Canada a run for its money in the final stretch for this year¹s Kraft Hockeyville nationwide competition.
On Saturday night, CBC revealed West Kelowna was among the final five communities competing for the coveted Kraft Hockeyville crown, and BC¹s only contender remaining in the contest.
In 2009, Terrace took the Hockeyville honours and West Kelowna hopes to be only the second BC community to win the title since the contest was introduced in 2006.
The winner of Kraft Hockeyville receives $100,000 towards arena upgrades and earns the chance to host an NHL preseason game at their local rink.
For making the final five, West Kelowna is already guaranteed $25,000 and will host CBC live from their local arena, Royal LePage Place when the winner is announced live during Hockey Night In Canada.
