Recently Premier Christy Clark announced that $8 million would be released for new playgrounds and playground upgrades for schools across British Columbia.

In this announcement, it was learned that Trafalgar School would receive $50,000 to fund a playground.

School District No. 8 is still waiting to see how those funds will be distributed and what parameters have been placed on their deployment.

In addition, the Ministry of Education is working with School Districts and Parent Advisory Councils to identify schools in the province that had playgrounds built this year and that will benefit from up to $50,000 reimbursements.

Any remaining funds from the $8 million will be used toward upgrading or replacing playground equipment at schools throughout BC.
