Transit service changes in the RDCK
Creston Valley Transit Service
The Regional District Board and the local government partners of the Creston Valley Transit Service, as a result of low ridership on fixed route service, have confirmed their support and will be piloting a new type of transit service called a Shuttle Program.
During the planning of the Shuttle Program, route 2 Kinsmen Park and Route 3
Centennial Park will be converted to a service by request service only. There will be no scheduled routes.
Castlegar Transit Service (Ootischenia Route)
The Regional District Board and the local government partners of the Castlegar and Area Transit Service have approved changes to both the Celgar and Ootischenia transit routes.
The Celgar route will be adjusted to meet the late shift end time from the Celgar Pulp Mill which may result in possible connecting route rescheduling.
The Ootischenia route will be reviewed and options for connecting to Selkirk College instead of the Community Complex may be implemented.
This service route will continue to be monitored with recommendations from BC Transit forthcoming.
