Mungall releases video-letter trilogy on housing in Nelson
Three video letters focusing on CMHA’s proposed 35-unit housing project slated for Nelson’s Anderson Street will be sent to the minister responsible for Housing as the city’s MLA turns up the heat in the holiday season.
Michelle Mungall will be using YouTube to send the video trilogy to Rich Coleman illustrating the inaction on the project that was announced four years ago.
“The Anderson Street housing project has been stalled for much too long,” said Mungall.
“Minister Coleman has expressed that funding for these 35-units is a priority for the ministry, but we have yet to see one shovel hit the ground.”
This holiday season Mungall has a very clear message for Minister Coleman: putting roofs over people’s heads so that they are not left out in the cold.
The $7 million supported housing project was slated to begin in the fall of 2008 at the site of the old school board office in Nelson.
The video trilogy will be uploaded to YouTube each Wednesday beginning Dec. 1. Anyone can watch the videos and add their voice to the online comments by subscribing to Mungall’s YouTube channel.
