The Nelson Leafs used an explosive attack to pull off a weekend sweep of the Castlegar Rebels in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action.

The Leafs opened the weekend series with a 7-2 victory over the Rebels Friday in Castlegar before completing the sweep Saturday at home with a 4-2 win at the NDCC Arena.

More than 150 athletes from throughout the Kootenay Zone came to Nelson to compete in the annual Judges Cup Gymnastics Competition at the Glacier Gym Club.

Nelson was very well represented in all divisions of the competition.

More than 150 gymnasts from throughout the Kootenay region took to the Heritage City Saturday to compete in the annual Glacier Gymnastics Club Glacier Judges Cup competition.
