What a difference a year makes.

Last year at this time of the season the Nelson Leafs were mired in a slump that saw the Buds win once in seven Kootenay International Junior Hockey League attempts during the month of November.

The Leafs, sitting near the bottom of the Murdoch Division standings, struggled to score and were giving up an average of almost four goals a game.

After a tournament of heartbreak, the L.V. Rogers Bombers concluded the BC High School AA Boy's Soccer Championships on a positive note, edging Dawson Creek 2-1 to finish 15th overall Wednesday in Burnaby.
