They left us too soon and oh how we miss them

Kim Lorraine Tompkins and Roy Edmund Tompkins

1953-2021                          1943-2021

It is with such heartbreak that we announce that our beloveds Kim and Roy Tompkins passed away within weeks of one another. They were married to each other for over 34 years.

Roy was born in Dunstable England in 1943 and died from Alzheimers disease on April 25, 2021. Kim (Olson) was born in Nelson BC in 1953 and died of natural causes on May 24, 2021. Roy’s professional life was spent as a machine operator and driver. Kim was a Music Teacher eventually retiring as the Principal of Castle Park Elementary School in Port Coquitlam. They shared a deep love of music singing with each other, in ensembles and several Church choirs.

Roy sang in Chor Leoni Men’s Choir and Kim sang in the Phoenix Chamber Choir and Vancouver Cantata Singers.

Kim is survived by her son Joshua, his beloved wife Jillian, granddaughter Madeline, Kim’s mother, brother, sisters and many beloved family, friends, and colleagues. Roy is survived by his daughters Adrienne and Andrea and their children along with beloved family and friends in Canada and England.

A Memorial Service will be held for them on October 2 nd at 1:30pm at Queen’s Avenue United Church, 529 Queens Avenue, New Westminster, BC. In honour of them and all the blessings they left with us, you are welcome to send donations to one or more of the following:
