Nelson, Darcy Lyle

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Darcy Lyle Nelson on August 13th, 2016 in Salmo, BC at the age of 52.

Darcy was born on June 22, 1964 in Dryden, Ontario to parents George and Gabrielle (Lajeunesse) Nelson. He worked as a journeyman electrician with IBEW union local 1003 and took great pride in his work. He was also a skilled carpenter. When he was not working he enjoyed fishing, woodwork, 4x4ing and camping. He had a great sense of humour, and loved to make others laugh. He had a huge heart and was selfless when it came to friends and family.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheena Nelson (Pierre Brouillard), and Trisha (Rick) Polson, grandchildren Alex, Isabelle, Ellio, Ethan, Kale, Braden and Ahmi. He is predeceased by his parents George Nelson and Gabrielle Lajeunesse and sibling Wayne Nelson.

“We will make a living by what we get, but a life by what we give.”

Darcy will be remembered for his generosity. As per his request his belongings will be donated to others in need.

Material things meant nothing to him, his gold was making memories with those he cared about. Please remember him for his contagious laugh, his warm heart and for the talent and passion he put into his trade, of which he was so very proud.
