“Doc” was a dentist serving the community of Trail for over 30  years, specializing in oral surgery at the Trail Regional Hospital and orthodontics as well as general dentistry.  Joe gave his heart and soul to volunteering in the community of Trail as President of the Trail Smokeaters Hockey Club from 1969-1974, and the Rotary Club of Trail with over 50 + years of perfect attendance.  He was a proud member of Corinthian Lodge No. 27 and Past Associate Bethel Guardian of Jobs Daughters in Trail.

Joe loved fishing, hunting, golfing and skiing in the West Kootenays and throughout beautiful British Columbia.  He loved taking the “Silver Bullet” camping and travelling.   In the latter years of his life, you could often see Joe playing a game of solitaire at the Waneta Mall or Safeway whilst waiting for a ride home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hii and other health care providers, staff on the third floor medical wing at KBRH and the staff at Columbia View Lodge Special Care Unit for making Dad as comfortable as possible in his last days with us.
