Lisanti, Gerardo

(January 14th, 2020)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerardo Lisanti on January 11, 2020. He was born February 15, 1941 into a large family in Muro Lucano, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1959. Gerardo and Romilda met soon after, married in September 1963 and the following year their family grew with the birth of their daughter. One of his many joys were the times he and Romilda were able to spend with their grandchildren where there was laughter and storytelling.

Gerardo was a cheerful and giving individual, enjoying and appreciating every opportunity to socialize with family and friends. You could feel the joy when reminiscing with family and never missed an opportunity to share a humorous story or two. His laughter was contagious and he truly treasured those times. You would often see him sharing a morning coffee with friends at A&W then spending time in his garden and tending to his grape vines which he took great pride in. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer guidance and to make time for others.

Gerardo is survived by his daughter Maria, son in law Allen, grandchildren Cole and Jenna, and many other family members. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Robinson in Trail and all the staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson for their kindness and care shown for Gerardo. We would especially like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our family and friends for their support and love these past few months.

We will miss him so much but take great comfort in knowing that Gerardo and Romilda are reunited in peace and love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation.
