Dueck, Marvin Philip

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin Philip Dueck, age 63 of Slocan BC. He passed away at the Kootenay Lake Hospital on January 11 2023. Marv was born on May 10, 1959 in Winnipeg MB. He had the opportunity to live in Manitoba, Ecuador, Brazil, Alberta and lastly BC. He completed his education at Red River College in Manitoba as a Journeyman Carpenter. Marv had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking and going for drives in the mountains with family and friends. Marv loved the Lord and his family, and his soul is now praising God, according to Psalm 103:11-12, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him, as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us”

Left to mourn him are his beloved wife Kate (Schmidt), his children Travis and Kaura-Lea (Chris), his grandchildren Jace and Nova, brother Ron (Heidi) Dueck and their children Lindsay and Blake, brother-in-law David Prince and children Joshua, Daniel and Raquel, brother-in-law David (Terry) Schmidt and children Erica, Eden and Evan, brother-in-law Jim (Laurie) Schmidt and daughter Desi, sister-in-law Julie Schmidt and children Kylie and Tristan, and niece and nephew Myhr-Rynn and Lorian. He is pre-deceased by his father and mother Jacob and Olga Dueck, his sister Rose Prince, and his brother-in-law Peter Schmidt.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
