LLoyd (Bus) George Algar

LLOYD (BUS) GEORGE ALGAR

January 1918 to April 2014

Bus (Buster) was born in Peace River, Alberta on January 23, 1918.  The family moved to Ponoka when Bus was 8 years old and then to Edmonton where he began his hockey career.

From Edmonton he played hockey in Olds, Alberta and then for the Nelson Maple Leafs for two years. 

Anne Griffiths

 

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Griffiths on Thursday, April 17th, 2014, following a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 24th, 1931, in Llandudno, North Wales, to Robert and Annie Griffiths.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, two husbands; Ernest Melanson (1985) and Richard Leslie Rowe (1996), sisters Jane Johnson of Fort Pierce, Florida, Elizabeth Spence of Riondel, BC, and very recently, older brother John Griffiths (Violet) of Kentville, Nova Scotia.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bev LaPointe, peacefully at home with her loving partner Loreli and her faithful companion Tansy by her side.

Jade Michele Giesen

Jade Michele Giesen July 1, 1967 – April 11, 2014 It is with great sadness that we have to release the heartbreaking news that our daughter, Jade Michele, has passed away peacefully. She is survived by her parents, Hans and Irene Giesen of Kelowna, her sister Vicki Foster and her husband Scott and their children Jaimi and Mitch in Arizona and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins in the Okanagan and in Germany. Jade will surely be missed by everybody who knew her and in particular Paul DeFelice, Ojas Cats and Valentina Fierro, all of whom supported her in so many ways.

Arnie Anderson

Arnie Anderson December 2 1949 - April 16, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and co-worker Arnie Anderson on April 16, 2014. Arnie was born December 2, 1949 in Trail BC, the 9th child to Clarence and Hazel Anderson. Early in his childhood the family moved to the Canex Mine home site where with fond memories Arnie and his siblings and friends were free to grow up, run and play surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains.

Mitchell, Edith "Edie" Isobel

Edith Isobel Mitchell nee Heddle August 14, 1928 – March 31, 2014 “Edie” passed away peacefully and gracefully in Nelson on March 31, 2014 at the age of 85. Edie was born and raised at Willow Point by her mother, Bertha Heddle, having lost her father, Malcolm Heddle, to diabetes six days after she was born. She was also predeceased by her husband, Joe and her brothers, Malcolm and his wife Alberta and Duncan Heddle. Edie graduated in 1946 and worked at Mann’s Drugs in Nelson before her marriage to Joseph (Joe) Mitchell in 1954.

Darryl Locksley Lundy

Darryl Locksley Lundy June 15, 1964- March 30, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Son, Brother and Dad, Darryl on Sunday March 30th. Darryl was born June 15, 1964 and raised in Saskatoon and also spent many years enjoying Candle Lake at the cottage with family and friends. Darryl is survived by his parents Lock and Gayle Lundy of Victoria, his beloved sons James and Evan and the mother of his children Laura Lundy, brother Darin(Anna), sisters Brenda(David)Smith, Collette(David)Williams, Michelle(Nick)Lundy-Baggs and Jacqueline Rimmer.
