UPDATED: Six people charged in Anahim Lake double homicide

The North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) said six people — four men and two woman — have been charged in the double homicide of 23-year-old Matthew Hennigar and 22-year-old Kalvin Andy in Anahim Lake just before midnight on Boxing Day (December 26).
Provincial Crown Counsel has approved charges on the following individuals in relation to this investigation:
- 27 year old Everett O’REILLY (Male – 1st Degree Murder)
- 28 year old Christian CRACIUN (Male – 2nd Degree Murder)
- 25 year old Andrew JONGBLOETS (Male – 2nd Degree Murder)
- 26 year old Serena RHEM (Female – 2nd Degree Murder)
- 33 year old Lucille MACK (Female – Manslaughter)
- 22 year old Stephen MECHAM (Male – Manslaughter)
Mecham and Mack appeared in Williams Lake Provincial Court on Monday (December 29). The additional four individuals will be appearing in court in Williams Lake Tuesday (December 30).
MCU Investigators are attempting to determine a time line for O’Reilly, Jongbloets, Rhem and Cracium from the time of the offence Friday (December 26) at 11:53 p.m. until the time of their arrest around 10 a.m. Saturday (December 27).
Anahim RCMP investigate double homicide
Anahim RCMP are investigating a double-homicide that took place late Boxing Day (December 26).
Anahim RCMP received a call at 11:53 p.m.of shots fired at a residence in the 2100 block of Dorsey Road, which is located in the rural area of Anahim Lake.
Officers attended to find a 22 and 23-year-old man deceased at the scene.
Additional resources were immediately called in from Bella Coola, Alexis Creek, the North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to assist.
Saturday (December 27) at around 9:30 a.m., several suspects were taken into custody without incident.
It is believed that all parties involved are known to each other.
This investigation is in its preliminary stages and further details may be released once known.
The small community of Anahim Lake is a drive of about 863 kilometres north of Vancouver.
