UPDATED: Missing horse in Blewett found deceased

The RCMP is disappointed to announce that the missing horse in Blewett “Lakota” was located Friday.
Unfortunately, “Lakota” was located deceased by the owner a short distance from his property.
Circumstances surrounding the animal’s death: deemed accidental.
RCMP report missing horse in Blewett
RCMP are asking for public assistance in finding a horse gone missing in the Blewett area Thursday morning.
Nelson RCMP received a complaint from a local Blewett resident.
It is believed that the horse may have walked away from the owners property near the 3800 block of Malina Road in Blewett.
Description of horse:
- Name “LAKOTA”
- 20 year old Arabian/Quarter (approx. 14 hands high)
- 3 white socks, front sock is bay white snip on nose
- light coloured patch on belly
