UPDATED: Bombers edge Brookswood 1-0 at AA Soccer Championships in Burnaby

The L.V. Rogers Bombers will play for fifth spot at the 16-team BC High School Girl’s AA Soccer Championships in Burnaby.

Naomi Perkins scored the only goal of the game to lead LVR to a thrilling 1-0 win over Brookswood Friday afternoon in playoff action.

LVR advances to meet Bellenas of Parksville on Vancouver Island in the consolation round match Saturday.

LVR finished the round robin draw in second spot with a 2-1 record.

Perkins, Wheeldon score to lead Bombers to 3-0 win at AA Soccer Championships in Burnaby

Naomi Perkins scored twice and Jenna Wheeldon added a single as L.V. Rogers Bombers shutout Crofton House of Vancouver 3-0 in the final round robin game Friday at the BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championships in Burnaby.

LVR finishes the round robin draw with a 2-1 record.

The Bombers now advance to meet the second-place finisher today at 12:45 p.m.

Bomber girls rebound at AA Soccer Championships in Burnaby

The L.V. Rogers Bombers managed to bounce back from an opening round loss to finish Day one of the BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championships in Burnaby with a 1-1 record.

LVR edged Holy Cross of Vancouver 2-1 to remain in the hunt for the division title.

Allie Zondervan an Emma Wheeldon each scored once to lead the Bombers offensive attack.

The Bombers led 2-0 at the half.

Holy Cross cut into the margin but LVR held on for the win.

LVR opened the tournament losing 3-0 to St. Michael’s University of Victoria.

The Bombers struggled for most of the game against the Island power.

LVR, representing the Kootenay zone at the tournament, closes out the round robin draw at 9 a.m. Friday against host Crofton House of Vancouver.

The top team in each of the divisions in the 16-team tournament advances into the final four Friday.

The tournament final is set for Saturday afternoon.
