Two arrested in drug raid on Rosemont residence

One man remains in custody following a police drug raid on a residence in Rosemont Saturday evening Nelson Police said Monday in a media release.

Police said Saturday (March 09, 2019) at 7:45 p.m., after a prolonged investigation the Nelson Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence in Rosemont on grounds of illicit drug trafficking related to the residence. 

“As a result of the search a male and female were arrested and a significant amount of cocaine, MDMA (commonly known as Ecstasy) and Ketamine were seized from the home,” the media release said.

In total police estimate the amounts to be:

  • 2.7 kilograms of Cocaine
  • 400 grams of MDMA
  • 320 grams of Ketamine P

Police said the male and female were previously known to police. 

“The male remains in custody to appear in court and the female has been released on conditions,” the release said. “The street value of these drugs is believed to be in excess of $100,000 in Canadian currency.”

Police said a newer model vehicle was also seized as proceeds of crime under BC Civil Forfeiture Act as was $1600 in Canadian cash.
