Kootenay-Columbia NDP Wayne Stetski would like to invite the public to attend a conversation and BBQ with local MP, Nathan Cullen and former MP Alex Atamanenko Saturday, September 9 at the Rotary Lakeside Park.

The event runs from 3-5 p.m. at the Rotary Picnic Shelter, Lakeside Park. Admission is by donation.

Cullen, Northern BC Member of Parliament and best known for his national advocacy for democratic reform and campaigns to protect BC’s coast from oil spills will join former MP  Aatamenenko and current MP Wayne Stetski for an open discussion on the future of politics in Canada during a BBQ at Lakeside Park.

“Nathan has been such a strong voice for those frustrated by Trudeau’s broken promise on democratic reform,” said Kootenay-Columbia NDP Riding Association President John Chisamore.  “We are very excited that he is bringing that conversation and energy to the Kootenays.”

Stetski, Atamanenko and Cullen are inviting anyone interested to come and join them in the park for a conversation about the future of politics in Canada.  The BBQ will feature local meats and produce, as well as a pie making competition.

“Nathan, Alex and I all agree that if we are going to solve some of the major challenges facing our country we need to do politics differently,”  said Stetski.

“We need to listen more, we need to work across party lines, and we need to bring more people into the process, what better place to do that than in a beautiful park with a delicious local meal.”
