Team Cownden, Team Beaudry win big at Nelson Combined Bonspiel

Team Cownden and Team Beaudry were the big winners at the second annual Combined Bonspiel held this past weekend at the Nelson Curling Club.
Team Cownden, consisting of curlers from Nelson and Castlegar, Skip- Deanna Cownden, Third- Marlo Tedesco, Second Michelle Kooznetsoff, Lead- Heather Gingras, took home the Ladies A Event crown.
The B Event Winner was the McKenzie team from Castlegar and the C Event Winner was the Dreher team from Nelson and Castlegar.
Team Beaudry won the men’s A event.
The team consist of players from Nelson, Grand Forks and Christina Lake including, skip Garry Beaudry, Third- Don Bedard, Second- Gerry Foster, Lead-Tom Bassett .
Team Beaudry will be in the masters regional play downs next weekend in Creston.
The B Event Winner was the May team from Nelson and the C Event Winner was the Meadows team from Nelson.
Sponsors included The Adventure Hotel, Jackson’s Hole, Sears Nelson, Kristina Little of Valhalla Path Realty and RE/MAX RHC.
