Sutco Transportation Specialists of Salmo recognized as leader by Trucking HR Canada

Sutco Transportation Specialists of Salmo recently returned from the Trucking HR Canada ceremony with a major recognition said a company spokesperson.

Sutco is proud to announce they have been recognized as one of the five companies in all of Canada to receive a Trucking HR Top Fleet Employer award for 2017.

Sutco received the award for “Employment Engagement” Sutco is absolutely thrilled to have received this award alongside fellow industry leaders: Westcan Bulk Transport, XTL Transport, Challenger Motor Freight and Bison Transport.

“This is such a great honor and the epitome of a team buying into a vision,” said Doug Sutherland, Vice President and General Manager of Sutco Transportation Specialists.

“Our #1 Commitment is to our team members, therefore, to be recognized as “Top Employee Engagement” by Trucking HR Canada is incredibly rewarding for our entire team.”

Sutco was founded in 1995 by Chris and Melanie Sutherland, along with Chris’s father Robert Sutherland with one logging truck and vision of maintaining a family oriented business while becoming the transportation specialists for their customers.

“Five trucking companies were recipient of “Achievement of Excellence Awards” for 2017 and we are extremely proud to share this honor with four other industry leading transportation companies,” Sutherland said.

“From those humble beginnings, and armed with determination, a strong work ethic, and an ability to foresee the future demands of a growing customer base, Sutco quickly expanded.”

General freight, heavy haul, wood residual hauling and freight brokering are now the mainstays of Sutco.

However, Sutherland said as the transportation needs of Sutco’s customers evolve they continue to seek new and better ways to maintain their commitment to being transportation specialists.

Sutco remains family owned and operated, and proudly serves all of North America using the same determination, values, and work ethic it was founded on over 20 years ago.

Sutco continues to maintain its head office in Salmo, BC with a large support office/terminal located in West Kelowna, and additional terminals in both Chilliwack and Creston.
