Snowfall warning for West Kootenay to ease Saturday
by Nelson Daily staff on 24 Feb 2012
A snowfall warning for the West Kootenay has been continued through to Saturday with additional snowfall amounts of up to 15 cm expected by early morning.
This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions.
An intense Pacific frontal system moving across the province has spread snow to much of the interior.
Snowfall amounts of up to 15 cm have been reported for many localities. Additional snow amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected tonight.
The snow will ease Saturday morning as the weather system moves southeastward away from the area.
However, heavy snow is likely to persist into Saturday night over the Elk Valley region.
