Selects Michalchuk scores twice for TRU

Nelson Youth Soccer grad Shianne Michalchuk is quickly getting accustomed to playing at the university level.
The NYS grad scored twice to spark Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack to a 3-1 victory over Columbia Basin College Saturday during an exhibition road trip to Washington State.
The Wolfpack also defeated Clark College 1-0 and Wenatchee College 8-2 during the weekend trip.
Michalchuk is one of two players from Nelson Youth Soccer on the squad. Defender Julia Burkart is also a rookie on the TRU roster. Both players were part of the NYS U18 Selects Provincial B Cup winner team this summer.
Michalchuk and Burkart are joined by U18 teammate Chantal Gammie of Smithers.
TRU completes the exhibition season Saturday in Kamloops with a game against Douglas College Royals at Hillside Field. The Wolfpack open the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) season September 8 at home against MacEwan Griffins of Edmonton.
