Save The Royal campaign begins!

This may come as a surprise to some, but unfortunately the live music venue we all love is in some trouble.

As most everyone is aware, it takes time for a business to grow.

Since taking over the Royal, just over a year ago, Howie & Paul have been investing all their time and money into making it grow as a musical mecca in BC.

Their sincere love of live music, and deep love for this wonderful town of Nelson, keeps them and the staff completely devoted (and extremely over-worked) to the Royal.

They’ve been voluntarily operating the Royal to give the community, the staff, the patrons, and the artists who play here, a home for live music in Nelson.

So, why do we need your help?  Well, we’ve run into a major roadblock.  The building at 330 Baker St. is for sale, and our lease is expiring.  In order to keep the Royal up and running, we need $75000, so we can confidently make a payment on a long term lease.. up to 30 years!

Otherwise, our lease is up in mid-2013.

Despite The Royal’s success as a music venue, we’re struggling to save enough finances to make this downpayment on our own.  So, owners figured with all the love we receive from the community, we should keep you informed of what’s happening.

Otherwise, this could mean the sad end of a historic, and legendary, live music venue.

So click on the http://www.indiegogo.com/savetheroyal below and you’ll be directed to a page where you can donate if you are able.

If you are unable to donate, you can still help by passing this email along and spreading the word about what we’re doing here.  We’re doing this for the music.

We’re doing this for the music lovers.
Thank you everyone, please stay tuned as this develops, and get in touch if you have any ideas, questions, or comments.
