Santa Claus Parade brings out the crowds in Nelson

In case you missed it, there was a special guest visiting Nelson Saturday.

Thanks to the hard work of the Nelson Business Association, Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special, pre-Christmas, trip to the Heritage City Saturday evening, parading down Baker Street to the Hall Street Plaza.

In past years, the NBA in conjunction with numerous downtown businesses jettisoned Santa to Nelson to light the big tree on Baker Street before visiting with children.

However, this year Clint and Cory at Western Auto Wreckers and Towing transported in Santa and Mrs. Claus in along with other parade entrants, starting at the Chamber of Commerce in Railtown to Hall Street Plaza.

Once the special guests made it to Hall Street, they were taken to a nice comfy couch to listen to the children’s Christmas wishes.

Entertainment supplied by the Rhythm Ropers & Choirs at Hall Street Plaza.

Donations are still being accepted for the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation, Our Daily Bread and Nelson Business Association.

The arrival of Santa marks the official beginning of holiday shopping season in Nelson.
