The Selkirk College Men’s Hockey program has released its schedule for the 2012/13 British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League regular season.

There are a number of positive changes to the schedule for Saints fans, including a 12-game home calendar that is made up exclusively of Friday and Saturday night games.

Selkirk home games will begin at 7:30 p.m. with ticket details to be released shortly on www.gosaints.ca.

The Saints will play a 24-game schedule that begins on Friday, October 5th with a visit to the University of Victoria for a two-game series.

One week later, Selkirk hosts Trinity Western University in the team’s home opener at the Castlegar Recreation Complex.

Selkirk plays three more home game games in October, including its only weekend home doubleheader when Thompson Rivers University visits on Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th.

The Saints also welcome the University of Victoria on October 27th to mark the third meeting against the reigning BCIHL champions in the opening month of the season.

The team makes two road trips in November, visiting Thompson Rivers and Simon Fraser University on November 2nd and 3rd before playing a two-game set at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. on November 9th and 10th.

Selkirk then wraps the opening half of its season with home games against Eastern Washington University and the University of Victoria on November 24th and December 1st.

Following a one-month winter break for college exams and holidays, the Saints return to the ice on January 12th when they host Simon Fraser University.

February is the team’s busiest month with seven games schedule, including home match-ups against SFU, UVic and EWU, before they wrap up the regular season with a home-and-home series versus Eastern Washington on March 1st and 2nd.
