The L.V. Rogers Bombers opened the High School Baseball season on the wrong end of two games Saturday against Northwest Christian High School from Spokane Washington.

LVR dropped the first game of the twin bill 14-4 to Northwest Christian.

In game two, the Bombers played better but still fell 4-3 to the Washington State School.

“Saturday was the first day the team was able to be outside on a field and the rust showed as the team committed 10 errors,” said Bomber manager Ron Mace.

“Game 2 found the team playing a bit better and only making 3 errors, but all coming at a critical time.”

Cole Laughton took the loss during the opening game of the season.
Offensively, Austin Tambellini led the Bombers with a pair of singles and two RBI.

Dallon Stoddart chipped in with a long double and a stolen base.

In game two, Adam Wheeldon gave LVR every chance to win but the errors came back to haunt the visitors.

Wheeldon allowed only one hit in taking the loss.

Stoddart and Curtis Pereverzoff each collected two hits for LVR.

The next action for the team is Wednesday at Mead High School in Spokane.

Weather permitting, LVR is expected to host the annual Spring Fling Friday and Saturday at Queen Elizabeth Park.
