Rockers get rocked by Bombers

The L.V. Rogers Bombers rebounded from a tough weekend to blast Stanley Humphries Rockers 6-0 in West Kootenay High School Girl’s Field Hockey action Wednesday at Pass Creek Pitch in Castlegar.
“The ladies began fast and never really took the foot off the gas,” said LVR coach Bruce Walgren.
Hanna Quinn led the Bombers with three goals while Maria Giavedoni, Shianne Michalchuk and Paige Meisner added singles.
Rylee Zondervan earned the shutout.
“Strong midfield work by Noa Butterfield and Ammie Montpellier as well as great defence by Julia Burkart, Heather Potkins, Isabell Curiston, Ashley Hall and Ashleigh MacLean was the key,” Walgren said.
