The Nelson Rhythm Ropers consistently travel the world in search of competition.

This weekend the world, well team from throughout the province, flock to the Heritage City to compete in the 2011 B.C. and Yukon Provincial Skipping Championships.

Seven teams from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and South Okanagan will be at the L.V. Rogers Gymnasium to compete for the grand prize — a spot in the Canadian National Skipping Championships later this year in Calgary.

The festivities begin Friday at the LVR Hangar with the opening ceremonies.

The competition heats up Saturday with team events in speed and power trials as well as freestyle group routines.

Sunday the provincial competition concludes with individual events with the top eight finishers securing a trip to Cowtown.
