Chief Administrative Officer Brian Carruthers has resigned from his position with the Regional District of Central Kootenay less than two years after accepting the post.

Carruthers is leaving the RDCK to assume the position of CAO for the Cowichan Valley Regional District in Duncan in early September.

“I am pleased with the work that has been accomplished to date and am confident that there will be a seamless continuation of leadership with Mr. Carruthers’ departure,” says Chair John Kettle.

CAO Carruthers joined the RDCK in November of 2012 and was tasked by the Board of Directors with leading the RDCK into a period of change, which included implementing a number of initiatives to improve governance and service delivery in the regional district.

The move allows CAO Carruthers to join his partner in the Duncan area and be closer to his family.

“We wish Brian the best of luck as he takes on his new role on Vancouver Island,” states Chair Kettle.
