RCMP seize large quantities of drugs from Ymir residence

Salmo RCMP said a call for service Friday (January 8, 2021) afternoon resulted in officers recommending that a man at the Ymir residence face drug charges.

Police said that at approximately 4 p.m., Salmo RCMP responded to a residence in Ymir. During the call at the residence RCMP members discovered illegal drugs in plain view.

“The male homeowner was arrested at scene and a search warrant for the residence was sought and approved,” RCMP said.

“The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of large quantities of Psilocybin (magic mushrooms), cannabis, cannabis oil, and cannabis pills.”

“Canadian cash was also seized,” RCMP added.

Police said charges of trafficking and production of Controlled Substances will be recommended against the male suspect.
