Nelson RCMP is currently searching for four suspects who fired a rifle at a person Wednesday night near Rover Creek Service Road in Blewett.

In a media release Thursday, Nelson RCMP said officers are trying to identify the four suspects who were seen leaving the crime scene in a white coloured pick-up truck with a plow attached.

RCMP said officers received a complaint at approximately 7:13 p.m. Wednesday that four unknown male suspects were seen near a white camper trailer on Rover Creek Road armed with a rifle.

“One of the suspects pointed the rifle at the complainant and eventually discharged the rifle as a ‘scare tactic’,” Nelson RCMP media release said.

“The complainant and the second occupant of the trailer manage to flee the scene with no reported injuries.”

RCMP said the camper trailer was then set on fire.

RCMP said officers attended the scene to contain the fire and conduct further investigation.

“The make, model and year of the truck is unknown at this time,” RCMP said.

“The Nelson RCMP is continuing with the investigation trying to identify the four suspects and association vehicle.”

RCMP said anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Nelson RCMP at 250-352-2156 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
