RCMP investigate suspicious death in Creston

RCMP have commenced an investigation into a suspicious death after a body was discovered in a residence on the Lower Kootenay Band near Creston Sunday afternoon.

On May 31 at 3:14 pm Creston RCMP received a report of a sudden death on the Lower Kootenay Band.

Upon arrival officers located the body of a deceased 26-year-old man in a residence at that location. The death of this male is suspicious in nature and is currently being treated as a homicide.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and no further information will be released in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification of his next of kin.
