RCMP asking public to be on the lookout for two stolen Dagger kayaks

A couple of music lovers attending the 2015 Shambhala Music Festival reported their kayaks had been stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning RCMP said.
RCMP Sergeant Mike Wicentowich told The Nelson Daily Sunday the couple had attended the music festival Saturday, and when they returned to their vehicle, the two kayaks were missing.
“Their van was parked off Airport Road, within walking distance to the entrance of the Shambhala Music Festival grounds and the two victims had left their kayaks on tied to the top of the van they had been travelling in,” Wicentowich explained.
“When they returned to their van, they discovered someone had cut the straps and stolen kayaks.”
Wicentowich said the stolen items are two, nine-foot long Dagger kayaks, one yellow and the other multi coloured with paddles inside.
Wicentowich believes the kayaks may still be in the area and is asking the public to be on the lookout for the stolen items.
Police received a call of the theft at 1 a.m. Sunday.
